WandaVision Episode 7 Theories

With WandaVision’s seventh episode premiering tomorrow, I thought it best to lay out three theories about the shows future.

1. Blue Marvel is Monica’s contact

Monica Rambeau mentions that she may know an aerospace engineer who could help infiltrate Westview and episode 7 seems to be the one we will meet them in. Fans all across the internet immediately theorized this was going to be Mr. Fantastic (Reed Richards) and I’ll admit I thought it was going to be him too. I saw a few comments saying that it was Blue Marvel who is a fairly obscure character but he does fit the bill, and there are a few reasons why I think it’s going to be him.
Blue Marvel (Mighty Avengers)
Adam Brashear aka Blue Marvel has Ph.D.’s. in electrical engineering and theoretical physics. His powers include energy absorption, superhuman strength, matter manipulation, flight and hyper awareness among others. But Steve, what does that have to do with him being Monica’s contact? I’ll tell you dear reader, in the Mighty Avengers storyline Blue Marvel heals Spectrum after she had been injured by Proxima Midnight (you may recognize her as the woman with the blue hair and spear from Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame). Now I’m going to have to tell you who Spectrum is.
Spectrum is a hero name used by none other than Monica Rambeau. At this point in WandaVision we have not seen Monica Rambeau receive her superpowers but my next theory goes into more detail on how she will become Spectrum.
In another comic book storyline, Blue Marvel is responsible for reforming a secret society known as the Three Xs. The Three Xs is composed of Blue Marvel, Night Thrasher and Jimmy Woo. Yes, that Jimmy Woo. Blue Marvel has two connections to characters that have already been established and while it would be nice to see Reed Richards show up, I think it is far too early to see any members of the Fantastic Four.

2. Monica Rambeau becomes Spectrum

In episode 6 we learn that Monica’s DNA has been altered by the Hex, this is a departure from her comic book origin story but Marvel Studios frequently takes creative liberties with characters and stories. In the comics, Monica is bombarded by extra-dimensional energy granting her energy-based powers. Spectrum can transform her body into energy which allows her to fly, have superhuman speed, become invisible, absorb energy, use energy blasts and phase through solid matter. She has a few more minor abilities but those are the big ones.

My theory is that instead of extra-dimensional energy, the Hex altered Monica’s DNA to the point of giving her powers. Perhaps we won’t see Monica use or discover these powers in episode 7 but I believe that by the end of WandaVision she will begin to discover what the Hex has done to her.

Black Panther, Spectrum, Blue Marvel, America Chavez and Captain Marvel

The above image is a picture of Marvel’s Ultimates. A team comprised of Black Panther, Spectrum, Blue Marvel, America Chavez and Captain Marvel. Black Panther and Captain Marvel already exist in the MCU. Monica Rambeau eventually becomes Spectrum leaving us only waiting for Blue Marvel and America Chavez. Xochitl Gomez was cast as America Chavez in Doctor Strange 2, and if Blue Marvel appears in WandaVision we very well may be seeing Marvel’s Ultimates in the MCU.

3. The Hex introduces the X-Men

I have previously written about how I believe Wanda Maximoff is responsible for the emergence of the X-Men in the MCU. With the revelation that the Hex mutates peoples DNA I am doubling down on the idea that something will happen that is responsible for Mutants appearing in the MCU. Here’s how I think it’s going to play out. We saw that when Wanda is under duress she can expand the Hex so her abilities are tied to her emotions. I think that the Hex will be destroyed or Wanda will put it down and realize that she can not keep Vision alive anymore and she will be forced to watch her love die again in front of her eyes. This will cause Wanda’s powers to become stronger than we have ever seen allowing her to either encompass the entire Earth in a Hex or simultaneously touch every human on Earth and activate their X-gene.

This would tie in to Wanda’s appearance in Doctor Strange 2. Wanda uses her powers to touch everyone on Earth prompting the only one as powerful as her to step in and help her get her abilities under control. Enter Doctor Strange.

Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch
At the end of the day these are just theories, I’m simply watching this show along with everyone else. None of this could happen or all of this could happen and only time will tell. I do think my X-Men theory is on the money though, I’m pretty proud of that one.
